A short note on what happens to the details you send us.

What we keep

When you send an enquiry or a message, we keep the name, email, phone number, guest count and message you type, together with the yacht you asked about. They are stored in this site's own dashboard.

How we use it

We use these details to reply to you and for nothing else. Browsing the directory does not need an account, and no account is created when you send a message.

Crew accounts

The crew section needs a free crew account. Signing in and passwords are handled by Wix, the platform this site runs on, and we never see your password. We ask for no documents, no ID or passport numbers and no date of birth, and the form refuses links, emails and phone numbers in free text.

Private to you: your crew profile (name, roles, years, languages, certificates you declare, home base, a short note), your yacht claims with the referee you name, and your messages. Only your own signed-in account can read them, and the directory owner can see claims in the site dashboard in order to check them. Messages between crew are scrambled in your browser before they are stored, so the stored text cannot be read by other members or by visitors.

Public when you choose it: an availability post (your display name, role, areas, dates, years, languages, certificates you declare and a short note) shows on the crew board until the end date you pick, at most 90 days, and then it disappears from the board. When the owner approves a yacht claim, your display name, role and years on board show on that yacht's page.

Not verified: we do not check certificates, and we only verify that someone served on a yacht when the owner approves a claim. The directory is not an employment agency and does not place crew.

Delete it all: on your account page, "Delete my account and data" removes your profile, posts, claims and messages you sent, and closes your sign-in account. If you had an approved claim, the owner removes that public line when the request reaches them.

Asking us to delete it

To have your message removed, send us a note on the contact page and say so.
